Veiled With Love. Review

Veiled With Love is an original line that offers chic modest apparel, a wide selection of beautifully selected and handmade scarves, and bold, vibrant jewelry. Whether you are looking to give your look that extra push, or looking for original pieces that uphold the rules of beauty and modesty, we’ve got what you’re looking for.

A word from our CEO/Stylist: “I strive to be the girl that turned modesty into beauty, and provided a line of scarves and accessories so alluring that every single girl will be confident, modest, fashionable, and veiled with love.”- Noha Hassan

I came across this cute little online store by accident one day on Facebook. I was absolutely in love with one of the scarves the model was wearing and had to order it!

Veiled with love also has chic tops and jewelry, too.

I finally received the scarf that I ordered yesterday in the mail. I was so excited to get it! It's just as beautiful in person and I was impressed by how fast it got here, too!

Modest Scouting

The Scouts have designed a special uniform for Muslim girls to cater for their growing female membership.

A hoodie dress and a T-shirt dress which ‘encapsulate the adventurous spirit of Scouting’ are now available to attract recruits from Muslim families.

It is hoped that the new uniforms will allow the movement to build on its growing popularity with girls. Around one in six of the 400,000 UK Scouts is a girl.

At present a typical uniform for a girl Scout includes a short-sleeved T-shirt and no headgear. The new dresses both have long sleeves, are knee-length and can be worn with a headscarf.

They feature orange symbols based on the Scout badges for camping, canoeing, scuba diving and windsurfing.

There are currently 2,000 Muslim Scouts and 40 Scout groups which have predominantly Muslim members in Britain.

Scout leaders say they are attracting interest from increasing numbers of Muslims from second and third generation immigrant families.

The organization has also been working hard to recruit girls and claimed to have signed up more girls than boys in 2010 to 2011.

(Modern: British Muslim girl scouts pose with their newly designed uniform which includes a 'hoodie dress' to stop headscarves falling off and long sleeves)

Traditionally, girls would have joined the Guides, who number 530,000. Girls have been allowed into the Scouts since 1976.

Chief Scout Bear Grylls said: ‘Scouting has something to offer everyone, no matter your religion, ethnicity or belief, and I’m so proud that we offer an environment for people of all backgrounds to come together.’

The dresses were developed by Palestinian British designer Sarah Elenany, who aimed to create a uniform which did not necessarily mark out its wearer as a Muslim.

She said: ‘Girls told me what they wanted to wear and what issues they had with the existing range.

'They feel more comfortable wearing the new outfits and feedback from Muslims and non-Muslims has been brilliant.’

DIY Khaleeji Scrunchie

Khaleeji style hijaabs are quite popular lately but to get traditional Kahleeji volume usually requires a little bit of assistance from flower clips (bokchas, shabasas, etc..) but getting your hands on flower clips can be mission impossible.

Since I can't live without my height or volume I've had to improvise! I've found a really creative and efficient way of getting volume by using a basic shower lofa. This tip has been passed around for awhile. But I put together a mini tutorial for all of those who too are looking for kaheelji volume.

These types of lofas can be found in any pharmacy.

Untie the handle . Don't cut!
If the tie has a suction cup on it it should just slide ride off  after you untie it!

Find the center string of the lofa and cut that.

After you cut the center strong your lofa should look similar to this.

Start by taking one of the pieces and pulling them apart so they are stretched out.

Pull the first piece over your hand and arm.

Now stretch out another piece. You can alternate colors as well.

Now pull the blue piece over your hand over the white piece. You should have both pieces layering each other. Depending on the volume you are looking for you can continue to add more pieces for a bigger scrunchie.
Once you have achieved the fullness of your scrunchie, take the tie with one end in hand and slip it through the loop.

Once you've pulled the tie through both ends, knot the ends of the tie.

After you can pull the scrunchie apart to be completely round.

How to wear a Khaleeji Scrunchie:

Start off by putting your undercap on first then put your hair up in a low bun.
Simply pull your hair through the loop of the scrunchie. You shouldn't have to loop the scrunchie a second time. To keep it secure pin the scrunchie to your undercap.

Here is what the scrunchie will look like under your hijaab:

March Inspiration Board

I have been designing like crazy the last two weeks. I sometimes get designers block when I'm lacking inspiration. But lately I have been finding inspiration from a lot of  different places and currently my hands can't keep up with my brain... Here is a sneak peek of what is currently on my own inspiration board.
